Continuing education requirements for Ohio

Real Estate CE is a fully accredited school for real estate ce in Ohio. Make sure to check the ce renewal requirements below when you're doing your continuing education!

Ohio Real Estate License Renewal Requirements

OH Real Estate License Renewal Principal Brokers, Associate Brokers, Brokers on Deposit, and Management Level Licensees (whether Broker or Salesperson)

30 hours of continuing education. Courses must include:

  • 3 hours Ohio Broker Responsibilities
  • 3 hours Civil Rights
  • 3 hours Core Law
  • 3 hours Canons of Ethics
  • 18 hours of Electives.

Renewal Cycle: Every 3 years from licensed year on Licensee's birthday.

Inactive or Exempt: No CE is required if a licensee is 70 years old or over and in an inactive status. Licensees that are 69 years old and younger DO need to complete their 30 hours of continuing education even while in an inactive status. License must be renewed and renewal fee must be paid. There is no time limit on how long your license can remain inactive.

Roster Reporting Procedures for Ohio

Upon completion of all the course steps, a certificate will immediately, and always be available for printing from your account.

All licensees are required to submit proof of completion of their continuing education requirement on a Renewal Application With Education Compliance Form which can be found at the Ohio Department of Commerce website. The form must be signed and submitted along with a copy of the completion certificates. Continuing Education may only be submitted within the 60 days prior to the continuing education due date.

Course completions are electronically reported the next business day following completion.

Active licensees who will turn 70 years of age during the current education cycle need only submit proof of completion of the three core courses.
