Washington Real Estate License Renewal Requirements
Broker renewing for 2nd and subsequent time, Managing Brokers, or Designated Brokers

30 hours of continuing education, including a 3-hour Core Course.


Brokers renewing for the first time

Required continuing education includes:

  • 30-hour Advanced Practices Course
  • 30-hour Real Estate Law Course
  • 30 hours of approved continuing education, including a 3-hour Core Course
The hours must be completed after the date of first licensure.


Renewal Cycle: Every 2 years from licensed year on licensee's birthday.

Inactive: No CE is required while your license is inactive. License must be renewed and renewal fee must be paid. There is no time limit on how long your license can remain inactive. You will need to complete your CE requirement if you want to return to active status.

30 hours Broker Renewal Package - Second & Subsequent Renewal Package
This package meets the requirements for real estate brokers who are renewing for the second and subsequent time. For First Time Active Renewals, this package will satisfy 30 of the 90 required hours. This package is approved for 27.0 Elective Hours and 3.0 Core Hours.
