Are there any subject area requirements for Washington Real Estate CE?

First Time Renewal

  • Advanced Practices: 30 CE hours (WebCE does not currently offer this course)
  • Real Estate Law: 30 CE hours (WebCE does not currently offer this course)
  • Current Issues in Washington Residential Real Estate: 3 CE hours
  • Fair Housing: 6 CE hours
  • Electives: 21 CE hours

Subsequent Renewals

  • Current Issues in Washington Residential Real Estate: 3 CE hours
  • Fair Housing: 3 CE hours
  • Electives: 24 CE hours
At least 15 hours must be completed within 24 months of your renewal date.

Note: Change to CE Requirements - Effective beginning 6/1/2022
All active licensed brokers and managing brokers must take a Fair Housing education course as part of the required 30 hour instruction. The first active renewal period after 6/1/2022, must include a 6-hour course on Fair Housing and with every renewal period thereafter, a 3-hour course must be completed.

The new 6-hour Fair Housing course Washington Real Estate Fair Housing is now available on WebCE's course catalog.

When does Washington Real Estate CE have to be completed?

Every 2 years based on the original issuance date.

Can Real Estate CE courses be repeated?

Courses cannot be repeated more than once in a 2 year license term.

Can Real Estate CE course hours carry over to the next renewal cycle?

A maximum of 15 hours may be carried forward to the next license term.

What is the Washington Real Estate license renewal process?

Complete your continuing education requirements. (You won’t need to upload proof of your education unless your renewal notice states you have randomly been chosen for audit.) Be ready to answer legal background questions and provide documents if needed. Submit a new fingerprint based background check, if needed. Use your SAW account to renew and pay your fees online.

What are the WebCE Washington Real Estate CE course requirements?

  • WebCE courses are classified as online distance education courses.
  • Students will not be able to complete the course until the student’s time in the course equals the number of approved credit hours for the course. Students must read the course material and answer each set of end-of-chapter quizzes with a score of at least 60 percent.
  • Final exams are not required for CE.
  • If the end-of-chapter quiz is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.

What is the access period for WebCE Washington Real Estate CE courses?

12 months from the original date of purchase, unless otherwise posted on the course description page and student dashboard.

How often does WebCE report Washington Real Estate CE course completions?

WebCE does not report course completions.

Does WebCE supply a certificate of completion for Washington Real Estate CE courses?

Online PDF certificates of completion are available to print immediately after the course is completed.

What are the Washington Real Estate CE requirements for non-residents?

Non-residents that are in good standing in their home state do not have to complete Washington continuing education.
