Colorado Real Estate License Renewal Requirements
24 hours of continuing education every 3 years. Courses must include:
- 4 hours Annual Commission Update Course (to be completed each year of the cycle for a total of 12 hours)
- 12 hours of Electives
8 HOUR RULE: Colorado real estate licensees are not allowed to complete more than 8 hours of continuing education in a day. It is up to the student to monitor and make sure they don't violate this rule.
Renewal Cycle: Every 3 years from the date of original license
Inactive: If your license has been inactive for longer than 3 years, you MUST complete either:
- The State portion of the Colorado Broker's Exam, or
- 48 Hours in Colorado Contracts & Regulations and 24 hours in Real Estate Closings (for a total of 72 hours).
Roster Reporting Procedures for Colorado
Upon completion of all the course steps, a certificate will immediately, and always be available for printing from your account.
Real estate continuing education providers are not required to submit course completion information to the Colorado Real Estate Commission. Instead, licensees must retain proof of continuing education completion for 4 years, and provide said proof to the Commission upon request.Colorado Division of Real Estate
