Course Syllabus:

4.0 TREC Legal Update Part I Hours (2016 - 2017).

Texas real estate licensees face a changing marketplace in which quick decisions can make the difference in closing a transaction. Maintaining competence in this increasingly competitive profession demands that licensees receive up-to-date information on:

  • TREC Statute and Rules Update
  • Property Management
  • Disclosures to Buyers, Landlords, Tenants, and Sellers
  • Promulgated Contract and Addendum Forms
  • Unauthorized Practice of Law

In cooperation with the Texas Real Estate Commission, Real Estate Center staff, and MCE writing group have developed the real estate legal curriculum with the assistance of an advisory committee of active licensees, attorneys and education providers. Real estate licensees are encouraged to acquire additional information and to take courses in specific, applicable topics.

Course Objective

Discuss Statutory changes to Texas Real Estate License ACT.

Review Property Management Legislative Changes including Residential and Commercial Tenancies.

Review Disclosure related Legislative changes and examples.

Understand Promulgated contract changes and featured contract review Paragraphs 1 - 5.

Featured contract review Paragraphs 6 - 24.

Understand unauthorized practice of law.
