3.0 hours Doing The Right Thing - The Code Course Syllabus
3.0 Elective Hours.
The Code of Ethics embodies many of the central principles of business ethics but focuses on the objective measurement of the conduct of members in the specific business environment of real estate transactions. While business ethical issues can be approached from a variety of perspectives, the REALTOR® Code of Ethics takes a pragmatic, hands-on approach. In this way, the study of ethics is much more than simply moralizing about what should or should not be done in a particular situation.
More specifically, it is a systematic guide to understanding ethical dilemmas related to everyday real estate practice, and appropriate actions and expected decision-making processes.
In requiring all members to study ethics on a regular and consistent basis, the National Association of REALTORS® has shown its commitment to having its members do the right thing.
The Code of Ethics was created to give REALTORS® a guideline for acceptable standards of business practice. Using an ethical decision-making model, in conjunction with the Articles and Standards of Practice of the Code of Ethics, will help to ensure that REALTORS® continue to uphold the high level of professionalism that the Code was designed to engender.
After completing this course you will have a greater understanding of The Code of Ethics and practical enforcement.
