Real estate professionals are affected by the differences of agency laws and rules from one jurisdiction to the next. This makes the real estate professional’s job even more difficult since, in some situations, it falls to the real estate professional to explain agency representation to the consumer. Real estate professionals must understand and be able to explain and disclose agency representation to their customers and clients. This course is designed to help you gain a better understanding of agency laws and disclosures. The fact that a real estate professional has fulfilled their obligations set out in the real estate license laws and rules may not necessarily satisfy the courts in the event of a lawsuit. A well informed and educated consumer is capable of making sensible decisions, gains an insight, and equates to a smooth transaction with a lesser chance for something to go wrong later. This course is designed to help you understand the different types of agency representation by explaining general agency structure and the responsibilities under such structure. Upon course completion, you will be able to identify common mistakes that can unintentionally imply false representation and learn how to safeguard yourself against such actions that could constitute a breach of fiduciary duties and the consequences of such breach.
